Best known for having co-founded
the "nearly-infamous" Tuesday night open jam at Smokey Joe's, and more recently heading up a revolving member ensemble referred to simply as The F.O.G. Project, Dave Blanton has been playing acoustic guitar and singing in and around the Charlotte area for over twelve years. From working in a number of joint efforts to solo shows all over the area to sitting in with a host of local and regional bands and musicians, Dave has developed a style of playing and singing that has been described by his peers as passionate, high-energy, percussive and emotionally forceful.
From covering old-time songs written well over a hundred years ago to playing originals written the day of the show, Dave's shows cover a lot of ground in the musical landscape. His setlist combines a solid dose of acoustic Southern rock, blues, bluegrass, a twinge of real country music and a wicked sense of humor all swirling together. You'll hear such songs as Dave's own newgrass versions of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" or Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" as well as the barn-burning blues originals "County Fair" and "I'm Not Gon’ Kill My Wife 'Til Well After Sunrise."
Always the entertainer first then a guitarist, Dave grabs the audience by their coat tails and drags them happily along to a place where live music is fun again. You’ll quickly discover that his music makes you smile, occasionally breaks your heart and always leaves you wanting more. Coupled together with his absolute love for playing and performing, and a genuine caring for the audience, Dave Blanton is the rare teller of homespun yarns that found his voice through the acoustic guitar and song.

Recent News . . .
Chasing The Moment settles in
Recently we've been playing a ton of shows around the Charlotte area with a varying lineup - a duo here, a trio there, me alone and so on. It's been awesome to have a group of folks ready to play on a "Moment's" notice, and we're really hitting our stride at being able to accomodate a wide range of venues and audiences.
When you see the band perform live, it's easy to see and hear when we've found The Moment. For us, it truly is why we play, and why we love to share the music with others. Like a mystical force, or the world's coolest magic trick, we can't exactly explain it - you just have to experience it with us.
